Our Full-Grain Leather
Our oil tanned leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Our full-grain leather is the strongest and most durable available, and the unique texture and natural imperfections from the cow’s life have not been sanded, cut or shaved off. Full-grain is SIX times stronger than Buffed, Upholstery or Genuine leather.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

I purchased this bag in honey. I’ve had her 2 weeks. I prefer the pebbled bags, but decided to take a chance on the honey. I’m so glad I took a chance. I absolutely love it!! I was told to carry everyday and love her. And it will patina beautifully. I stuff her with an eclipse, wallet, phone, keys, taco keychain, water bottles, sunglasses, and a taco. The honey doesn’t scratch easily like I thought. She’s BEAUTIFUL!!!

My new AP Black pebbled CB Tote is perfect. I got this CB primarily for my laptops. The first photo (with my Metro Mini) show (or don't really show) my CB holding my 13" Macbook Pro. - perfection! I love my crossbody tote in the color honey. The quality is exceptional and the leather smells divine. It is quite spacious without being too oversized. I am 5’6” slender build. I use it as a work bag for my wallet, iPad, and planner supplies. With all that, it still has space for a sweater and snacks. I am very pleased with my purchase. I ordered the AP version and thought it looked amazing. I have used it daily for the past week and will definitely purchase more from Portland Leather.

The quality of this bag is amazing. It is nice and sturdy which I wanted for my work bag so that when I set it down it doesn’t fall over. In my bag I can fit a 1inch thick textbook, several small reference guide books, 40 oz water bottle, phone, keys, wallet, small zip pouch, pair of dress flats. It’s pretty full with that but I’m using it to walk into and out of work- I don’t carry it around all day. The only downside is that the color doesn’t really match what I expected for ‘honey’ based on the website. However, if I was that disappointed I could return. I won’t because I love it! No blemishes that I could see.

This bag is the perfect everyday bag. It has broken in well and gets better with age. I’ve had it about a year now and get many compliments on it when I’m out around town.
This tote has totally changed my organization when I walk out the door. It is beautiful and I’m really impressed with the quality.
My premium bag arrived with scratches and I contacted customer service. They were very kind and helpful and explained to me that Dakota shows scratches easily but they can also easily brushed out. I tried that and it worked. Not all scratches came out but I could live with it. Customer service offered a return for a refund or store credit. They were outstanding and very kind in their communication. In the end, I decided to keep it and embrace the imperfections. I am glad I did. It quickly became my favorite bag and I don’t have to worry about scratches anymore. The tote is a perfect carry all size. Dakota is beautiful if you can live with imperfections. Life is not perfect and I learned not perfect doesn’t mean not beautiful. I like my unique bag. Scratches and all.
The size of the FSCB tote is perfect for my needs and I love the longer length of the shoulder straps. I also like that the straps are the same leather as the bag. Dakota brushed leather is lovely and so soft. I couldn't resist and ordered another FSCB in Nutmeg...
My dad got me this one in Honey with the zipper for my job and it's great. I need a separate bag for my computer but thats because my work gave us 16 inch laptops instead of 13 inch ones like I was told originally. I'm gonna be so sad to see this one go if it doesn't get saved. I would love a green one. Here is all that I fit inside. The leather is super smooth and nice and structured.
